Hi Paul, I have watched you at The Celtic Manor Resorts and you played really well also I want to know how could I improve my short game? Do you always focus the ball to practice or body movement? Best, Paul
Dear Paul, generally speaking with the short game I tend to place a fraction more of my weight on my left side at address, which helps me create a good wrist hinge on the way back fot the ideal angle of attack into the ball. Overall, it's important not to let your body become too static. Allow your uppler body to turn towards the target through the downswing and ensure you retain good flext in your knees thoughout the swing. This will prevent any jerky clubhead movements and improve your feel for distance. Kind regards, Paul.
Hi Paul, I would just like to congratulate you on getting your first ever Albatross on the 4th (and last hole of the afternoon (shot gun start Pro Am)) hole at Wentworth today (20.05.09). It my pleasure to have been a caddie in that group and witness the occasion. I must also thank you for giving me your signed glove at the end of the round. That really made the afternoon. All the very best wishes for the tournament.
Dear Andrew, thanks for writing in and I'm glad that you had such an enjoyable day. I could have done with a few more albatrosses on Friday but not to be! Kind regards, Paul.
Hi Paul, Good to see are feeling positive and hopefully your confidence will get a further boost from the extra support from the crowds in Ireland and the UK. As you say, it would be nice to see this converted into some good results, as you more than deserve it! Best wishes for the month ahead. Els
Hi Els, thanks for the message. I've been working hard on my game and am looking forward to some good results. Baltry is testing for all of us this week - the weather is playing a big part in the proceedings. Thanks for your support. Kind regards, Paul.
Hi Paul. I have a few pictures of your swing in a golf mag that i cut out and often use as reference to where my swing should be through the golf shot. My weakest part of my game is off the tee with a driver. I`ve been thinking of buying the Explanar to help me train my golf swing. My question to you is, would it be worth spending all this money on the product to help my swing and does it actually work? Thanking you. Derek
Dear Derek, sorry to hear you're experiencing troubles off the tee. I reckon if I were in your shoes I'd go and see a PGA professional that uses the Explanar and try it out there. I think a course of lessons would really help and negate the need for you to actually shell out a load of money to buy one just for yourself. Good luck, Paul.
Hi Paul. After such a consistent season last year I have been very surprised with your form. Please stay working hard and I know you'll be in the winning enclosure again soon. I believe you should be in the worlds top 50, and I know you can still win a major. Believe in yourself. You have the game, just show us. You have had a poor start to the season. Put that behind you and start playing good golf again. I look forward to following your ascent to the top of world golf again, just look at Kenny Perry, your a young lad in comparison. I would say good luck but you won't need it! Best wishes, Eoin.
Hi there Eoin, thanks for the message. It has been a disappointing start to the season and I'm pleased that I had two good rounds in China - the putter deserted me on day three but it was a real confidence builder to shoot 68 on Sunday and haul my way up the leaderboard again. I really feel my game's coming into shape nicely now and am looking forward to the rest of the season. Regards, Paul.
